Marketmaker®
will not run on Windows 95 because the SunJava application
we use is not compatible with Windows 95.
Do I
have to install Marketmaker® to my
'C:' Drive?
No. During
the Installation, you can customise the location where you want
Marketmaker® to install to.
Do I need to download the latest SunJava manually for
Marketmaker® to work?
No. Built into the Installation of Marketmaker®
are the setup files for SunJava. The install process will
examine your machine to determine whether you need the SunJava
program, and if so, will download and install it automatically
from our servers
Do I need to install
the CD if I've already installed Marketmaker®
from the
website?
No. The Installation file on the CD-ROM and from the website
are the same. They install SunJava and the core
Marketmaker® program code. After they've
been installed, Marketmaker®
automatically checks a server, to find and then download,
any updates or additional code it requires
If I
use a new PC, will I need to fully install Marketmaker®
again?
Yes. If you use a different
computer than your normal one, such as in an Internet Cafe
or you buy a new replacement PC, you will need to either
install the CD-ROM or download and install the file from our
website. Once the Installation is complete, login as normal
and everything will be as you left it.
How
long will it take to download from the Internet?
Depending
upon your Internet connection, we estimate that it will take
5-15 minutes if you have broadband and between 45-60 minutes if
you have a 56K dial-up modem. The setup file is approximately
21MB in size.
Which
versions of Windows will Marketmaker®
work on?
Marketmaker®
will run on Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP (Home & Professional).
It will NOT work on Windows 95
Should
I install the latest Service Pack / Patches from Microsoft?
Yes.
Installing the latest Service Pack and patches, for whichever
version of Windows you run is always a good idea, as these will
solve alot of problems and should make Windows run much more
reliably. Marketmaker® and any other
program you have installed will benefit from this indirectly. Go
to
http://www.windowsupdate.com, have Microsoft's web site scan
your machine and install any upgrades it suggests.
